Overview

Specs

beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X

Classic DT 770 monitoring with a detachable cable

The beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X is a closed-back headphone for recording, monitoring and everyday wired listening. It combines the DT 770 family sound with the 48-ohm STELLAR.45 driver and a removable cable. This listing is the regular DT 770 PRO X, helping you choose the correct model without confusing it with the fixed-cable DT 770 PRO or the earlier Limited Edition.

Designed for Your Listening or Recording Setup

Monitor while recording

The closed earcups reduce sound escaping toward a nearby microphone compared with an open-back design. Keep playback at a sensible level and check for bleed when recording quiet passages.

48-ohm STELLAR.45 driver

This version brings the PRO X driver platform to the DT 770 design. It is intended for a broad range of headphone outputs, while available loudness still depends on the connected device.

A cable that can be replaced

The 3m lead locks into a mini-XLR socket on the headphone. Replace a worn cable or use an appropriate shorter lead without replacing the complete headset.

Serviceable everyday construction

Velour cushions and removable headband padding make routine wear parts replaceable. A pressure-relief recess in the headband padding supports the fit over the top of the head.

DT 770 PRO X or DT 700 PRO X?

The DT 770 PRO X retains the familiar DT 770 emphasis toward bass and treble. The DT 700 PRO X offers a different, more balanced studio tuning with the same nominal 48-ohm impedance. Choose around the presentation you know and the work you do. For open-back mixing in a quiet space, compare the DT 900 PRO X.

Build a recording and listening desk

Connect the 3.5mm lead to a suitable source or use the adapter with a 6.35mm output. The FiiO K11 R2R is a desktop playback option; the RØDE PodMic USB Black adds a separate microphone for streaming or spoken-word recording. The headphones themselves contain no microphone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition?

No. This page is for the regular DT 770 PRO X. Check the model name carefully when comparing listings and replacement parts.

How is it different from the DT 770 PRO?

The DT 770 PRO X uses the 48-ohm STELLAR.45 driver and a detachable mini-XLR cable. Traditional DT 770 PRO versions use fixed cables and are offered with different impedance ratings.

Does it have active noise cancellation?

No. It uses a closed-back acoustic design for passive isolation, not battery-powered active noise cancellation.

Can I use it with an audio interface?

Yes, with a compatible headphone output. The cable terminates in a 3.5mm stereo plug and includes a 6.35mm adapter.

Can it be used for gaming?

Yes, it can reproduce game audio from a compatible wired source. Add a separate microphone if you need voice chat.

Can I replace the pads and cable?

Yes. The cable, earpads and headband padding are replaceable. Select parts specified for the DT 770 PRO X.
