OmniPoint 3.0 HyperMagnetic Switches

OmniPoint 3.0 uses Hall Effect magnetic sensing to detect the position of supported keys without relying on a traditional fixed mechanical actuation point.

Actuation can be adjusted from an extremely sensitive 0.1mm setting to a deeper 4.0mm setting across 40 levels, allowing different keys to be tuned for different actions.

Rapid Trigger

Rapid Trigger changes how supported keys reset by responding dynamically to key movement rather than requiring the switch to return to one fixed reset position.

This allows a key to become active or deactivate rapidly as it moves, helping with repeated movements and directional inputs in supported games.

Rapid Tap

Rapid Tap prioritizes the most recently pressed key in a configured pair without requiring the previous key to be fully released first.

SteelSeries supports up to five customizable key pairings, giving players additional control for counter-strafing, directional movement and other rapid input combinations.

Protection Mode

Protection Mode is designed to reduce accidental key presses by temporarily lowering the sensitivity of selected surrounding supported keys when the intended key is pressed.

It provides additional control when using very shallow actuation settings where neighboring keys could otherwise be activated unintentionally.

2-in-1 Action Keys

Supported OmniPoint keys can be configured with two actions at different points in the same keypress.

For example, a lighter press can trigger one action while pressing the same key deeper can activate a second command.

OLED Smart Display

The built-in OLED Smart Display acts as an onboard control center for compatible keyboard settings.

Players can access supported actuation settings, enable or disable Rapid Trigger, view information and control media without leaving the game.

Dynamic Per-Key RGB Illumination

Each illuminated key supports customizable RGB lighting with approximately 16.8 million color options.

Enhanced Gen 3 Build Quality

SteelSeries upgraded the Gen 3 construction with improved switch stabilizers designed to reduce keycap wobble.

Per-key lubrication and triple-layer sound-dampening foam are also used to create a smoother keypress feel and reduce unwanted internal keyboard resonance.

Double Shot PBT Keycaps

The Apex Pro Gen 3 uses upgraded Double Shot PBT keycaps designed for durability and resistance to fading during extended use.
