Indoor or outdoor smart camera: which do I need?
Indoor cameras are made for rooms, offices and nurseries and are not built for outdoor exposure. Outdoor models such as the EZVIZ C3W are designed for doors, gates and yards. Choose based on where the camera will be mounted.
What does pan and tilt mean on a security camera?
Pan and tilt cameras rotate left to right and up and down, so one camera can cover a whole room, and you can look around remotely through the app. Fixed cameras watch one area but are simpler to place.
Do smart cameras need Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi models like the EZVIZ C3W connect to your home network so you can watch live video and get alerts on your phone. Place them within good signal range of your router, and note that many smart cameras connect only on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Where does a smart camera store its recordings?
Most smart cameras record to a microSD card inside the camera, and many also offer optional cloud storage through the brand's app. Local storage keeps footage at home, while cloud storage keeps a copy even if the camera is removed or damaged.
