MIC STANDS AT AX

Put the mic where the voice is.

Shop microphone stands and mounts in Kuwait from RØDE, Elgato, Gator Frameworks, Shure and more, from low-profile and studio boom arms to desk stands, extension rods and shock mounts. Pick the mount style for your desk first, then check it against your microphone.

How to choose a microphone stand

  • Boom arm or desk stand: A boom arm brings the mic close to your mouth and swings away when you are done. A desk stand is quicker to set up and suits lighter mics.
  • Profile: Low-profile arms stay below your eyeline and out of the camera shot. Classic spring arms rise higher and give more reach on larger desks.
  • Weight: Add up the mic, shock mount and pop filter, then check the total against the arm’s rated capacity. Heavy broadcast mics need a sturdier arm.
  • Thread and clamp: Most arms use a 5/8-inch mic thread, with an adapter for 3/8-inch mics. Check the clamp’s maximum desk thickness too.
  • Vibration: A shock mount isolates the mic from desk bumps and typing, which keeps low thumps out of the recording.

MICROPHONE STANDS AND MOUNTS FAQ

Before you buy.

Straight answers to the questions we hear most about microphone stands and boom arms.

Boom arm or desk stand: which should I choose?

A boom arm like the RØDE PSA1+ clamps to the desk and brings the mic close to your mouth while keeping it off the desk surface. A desk stand such as the Elgato Wave Desk Stand is simpler and easy to move, but sits further away and picks up more desk bumps and keyboard noise.

Low-profile arm or classic spring arm: what is the difference?

Low-profile arms stay low and flat so they keep out of your camera shot and line of sight. Classic spring arms, such as the RØDE PSA1, rise higher above the desk and offer more reach, which suits podcast setups and larger desks.

Will my microphone fit on a boom arm?

Most arms use the standard 5/8-inch mic thread, and a small adapter handles mics with a 3/8-inch thread. Also check the arm's rated weight against your mic plus any shock mount, as heavier broadcast mics need a sturdier arm like the RØDE DS2 Desktop Studio Arm.

How do I mount a boom arm on my desk?

Most boom arms attach with a desk clamp, and some also support a grommet mount through a cable hole. Check the clamp's maximum desk thickness, avoid thin glass tops and leave room behind the desk so the arm can move freely.
