The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BN98 combines draft Wi-Fi 8 networking with four wireless bands and BN25000-class aggregate data rates. Eight external antennas, a 2.6 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM support a busy gaming network, while two 10 Gbps Ethernet ports provide wired connection options for compatible high-speed equipment.

Seven Ethernet ports for a connected gaming room
Connect compatible wired devices through a 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port, a separate 10 Gbps LAN port, a 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port, three 2.5 Gbps LAN ports and one Gigabit LAN port. This selection lets you plan separate connections for your internet service and local equipment. A USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and a USB 2.0 port add supported storage and mobile-tethering options. Connection speed still depends on the equipment, cable and service used.
Four bands with 4×4 transmit and receive
Each wireless band supports a 4×4 transmit-and-receive configuration. The 6 GHz band supports channels up to 320 MHz, while both 5 GHz bands support up to 160 MHz. BN25000 describes combined theoretical wireless rates across the four bands, rather than the speed available to one device.
Gaming traffic tools in ASUSWRT
Game Boost, Mobile Game Mode, Gear Accelerator, GTNet and ROG_First provide gaming-focused management options. OpenNAT game profiles and the Gaming Port offer further ways to configure the network around compatible gaming equipment. ASUSWRT and the ASUS Router app provide access to router controls.
AiMesh, guest networks and VPN
Use the router as a primary AiMesh router or an AiMesh node. Guest Network Pro supports separate networks with scheduling and bandwidth controls. AiProtection, parental controls and supported VPN client and server protocols provide additional tools for managing access across your home network.
Draft Wi-Fi 8 with flexible network modes
ASUS lists the wireless standard as Wi-Fi 8, IEEE 802.11bn Draft. The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BN98 offers router, AiMesh node, access point, repeater and media bridge modes, allowing its role to fit your network layout. Wireless rates reach up to 1376 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 5764 Mbps on each 5 GHz band and 11529 Mbps on 6 GHz. Actual throughput and coverage depend on connected devices, interference and the installation environment.
