The available 1 TB / 2 TB capacity options let you choose the drive around the space needed for the system. Plan room for the operating system, applications, game updates and working files when choosing the drive. Some of the labelled capacity is used for formatting and drive functions, so usable space depends on the operating environment. Keep a separate backup arrangement for files that need to be retained.

Actual transfers depend on the host hardware, software, available cache, temperature and workload. Use the capacity-specific figures when comparing this drive with another option, particularly where a larger version of the same family has a different write rating.

Match the Storage Interface

The drive uses PCIe 5.0 x4, NVMe 2.0 in a M.2 2280 NVMe format. Check that the intended M.2 slot accepts a 2280-length PCIe NVMe drive and supports the required interface. The host connection determines the available link speed, so confirm the system specification before planning an upgrade.

The CORSAIR MP700 PRO with Air Cooler Hardware

MP700 PRO combines 3D TLC NAND with a PCIe Gen 5 NVMe 2.0 platform. This air-cooled version includes active cooling, and its 1 TB and 2 TB options carry different transfer ratings. Compare the selected capacity’s read, write and endurance values when choosing the drive for the system. These characteristics describe the selected drive family and capacity. Use them alongside the interface and performance figures when choosing storage for a desktop or compatible notebook. Capacity-Specific Write Endurance

The rated write endurance is 1 TB: 700 TBW; 2 TB: 1400 TBW. TBW means terabytes written and describes a tested write-workload rating. It is not the same as usable capacity or a guaranteed number of years of operation.
