ADDLINK FAQ

Before you buy.

Straight answers to the questions we hear most about Addlink SSDs.

SATA or NVMe: which Addlink SSD should I choose?

The Addlink S20 is a 2.5 inch SATA III SSD, a simple upgrade for older laptops and desktops with a SATA bay. The X70 is an M.2 2280 NVMe drive on PCIe Gen3x4, much faster than SATA, which suits boot drives and game libraries on boards with an M.2 slot.

Will the Addlink X70 fit my PC?

It needs an M.2 2280 slot that supports NVMe, which most modern motherboards have, and it also works in Gen4 and Gen5 slots at Gen3 speed. Its RGB heatsink adds height, so check clearance if your board has its own M.2 cover or the slot sits under the graphics card.

Is an SSD upgrade worth it over a hard drive?

Yes. Moving Windows and your games from a hard drive to an SSD like the S20 or X70 makes boot, load and file transfer times much shorter, and the system feels more responsive day to day. A 2.5 inch SATA SSD also fits in place of a laptop hard drive.
