The One 3 adds hot-swap sockets and extra sound dampening over the One 2, so pick the layout first, then the switch feel.

DUCKY FAQ

Before you buy.

Straight answers to the questions we hear most about Ducky mechanical keyboards.

One 3 Mini or One 3 TKL: which size should I choose?

The One 3 Mini is a 60% layout that drops the function row, arrow keys and numpad for maximum mouse space, reaching those keys through layers. The One 3 TKL keeps the function row, arrows and navigation cluster and only drops the numpad, which is easier for work and for games that use those keys.

What does hot-swap mean on Ducky keyboards?

Hot-swap boards such as the One 3 Mini and ProjectD Tinker 65 let you pull switches out and fit new ones without soldering. That makes it easy to change the feel later, for example with a Ducky Switch Kit-G Pro Set, as long as the switches are compatible with the board's sockets.

Red, blue or silent red: which switch should I pick?

Red switches are linear and smooth, a common pick for gaming. Blue switches are clicky, with a tactile bump and an audible click that many enjoy for typing but can be loud in shared spaces. Silent Red switches keep the linear feel with dampened sound for offices and late-night sessions.

What is the difference between the Ducky One 2 and One 3 series?

The One 3 is the newer generation, adding hot-swap sockets and extra sound dampening inside the case. The One 2 Mini models are the earlier 60% boards with soldered switches, so their switches are not meant to be swapped.
