Hear footsteps. Be heard clearly.
HyperX Cloud, SteelSeries Arctis, Razer BlackShark and Kraken, Logitech G and ASTRO headsets for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, in wired, 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth versions.
Buy for the platform first: Xbox needs its own wireless version, PlayStation and PC share most 2.4GHz models. Then weigh mic quality for comms, comfort for long sessions and battery life for wireless.

Wireless or wired gaming headset?
Wireless headsets like the Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed, SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 and HyperX Cloud III S remove the cable and still give low-latency 2.4GHz sound for gaming. Wired headsets like the HyperX Cloud III and Logitech G PRO X never need charging and are often the better value.
Will this headset work with PS5 or Xbox?
Most headsets work with PS5 over USB or a 3.5mm cable, but Xbox wireless needs headsets made for it. Check the product title and compatibility on the product page; the Astro A50 Gen 5, for example, is listed for Xbox, PS5 and PC.
Is a headset microphone good enough for streaming?
Headset mics are made for clear voice chat. For streaming or recording, a separate USB or XLR microphone sounds noticeably better and more natural.
What do virtual surround and spatial audio do?
They process the sound to help you place footsteps and direction around you. They are optional software features, so try them per game; many competitive players keep plain stereo.
Gaming headset or studio headphones?
A gaming headset gives you a built-in microphone and gaming software in one. Studio headphones like the beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO sound more accurate and suit music and mixing, but need a separate microphone for voice chat.
