The 32-inch IPS LCD panel uses oxide TFT technology and presents 20.4 million pixels at 218 pixels per inch. Its 16:9 format gives you a broad canvas for applications, detailed imagery and video. A superwide viewing angle supports high-fidelity colour and contrast at 89 degrees in each direction, helping the image remain consistent around your viewing position.

Review Bright Highlights and Deep Contrast

A two-dimensional backlighting system uses 576 full-array local dimming zones, coordinated by an Apple-designed timing controller. Pro Display XDR reaches 1000 nits sustained full-screen brightness and 1600 nits peak brightness for HDR content below 25°C, with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. SDR brightness reaches 500 nits, giving you distinct settings for different content.

Work Across Colour and Video Requirements

P3 wide colour and 10-bit depth support 1.073 billion colours. Built-in reference modes cover HDR video, digital cinema, photography, design and print, HDTV, legacy video standards, internet and web work. Refresh-rate choices of 47.95, 48, 50, 59.94 and 60Hz let compatible workflows match the cadence of different content and production requirements.

Adjust Your Display Through macOS

With macOS Catalina 10.15.2 or later, supported features include reference-mode selection, brightness control, reference status indication, user calibration and portrait or landscape detection. True Tone uses two ambient light sensors, while Night Shift provides another display setting. Compatible playback supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Hybrid-Log Gamma, extending the display’s use across supported HDR formats.

Connect Through Thunderbolt

An upstream Thunderbolt 3 connection links the display to a compatible Mac host and provides up to 96W of host charging. Three downstream USB-C ports support charging and syncing at USB 2 speeds, with the manufacturer noting USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds for the 16-inch MacBook Pro.
