The open earcup construction provides a spacious listening presentation for mixing and mastering in a suitable quiet room. It allows sound to pass between the headphones and the surrounding environment, so the listening space remains part of your setup.

Tesla Drivers for Detailed Monitoring

Dynamic Tesla drivers reproduce a specified 5 Hz to 40 kHz frequency range. Use the headphones to inspect instrument placement, balances and recorded detail through a suitable audio chain. The published response range describes the manufacturer specification; it does not replace listening at an appropriate level.

A 250 Ohm Audio Connection

The original DT 1990 PRO has a nominal impedance of 250 ohms. Match it with a headphone output capable of the level you need. Its gold-plated 3.5 mm stereo plug and 6.35 mm adapter accommodate common interfaces, headphone amplifiers and other compatible studio equipment.

Detachable Cables for Different Workspaces

A locking three-pin mini XLR connector keeps the single-sided cable attached at the earcup. Choose between the supplied 3 m straight cable and the coiled cable, which reaches 5 m when stretched. Detachable connections make it easier to arrange a desk or replace a cable later.

Ear Pads You Can Change

Two ear-pad options let you adapt the fit and listening setup. EDT 1990 A pads provide the neutral option, while EDT 1990 B pads add a slight bass emphasis. Both pairs are included, so they can be compared with familiar reference material.

Built for a Working Studio

The circumaural cups surround the ears, with an adjustable padded headband and replaceable ear pads. Headphone weight is 370 g without the cable. A hard case provides a place to store the headphones and accessories between sessions or when moving the monitoring setup.
