Move the USB Connection Within Reach

The ten-foot cable extends a compatible USB connection between a computer and a peripheral. That length is approximately three metres and gives more freedom when arranging the computer, desk and device. Plan the complete connected cable run and the peripheral’s own requirements rather than assuming unlimited extension length.

USB-A Male to USB-A Female

A USB-A male plug connects towards the compatible host, while the USB-A female socket accepts the peripheral’s existing USB-A connection. This is an extension cable, so it does not replace a device-specific USB-B, Micro-USB or USB-C lead. Check both physical ends when organising the complete connection.

Up to 5 Gbps with USB 3.0

The cable supports SuperSpeed USB 3.0 data transfer up to five gigabits per second. That is an interface maximum rather than a guaranteed file-copy speed. The host port, peripheral, storage medium and complete connection path determine the transfer rate available in the actual setup.

USB 2.0 Peripheral Compatibility

Sabrent lists compatibility with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 peripherals, including suitable keyboards, mice, flash drives and USB hubs. An older USB 2.0 device continues to operate at its own supported interface speed. Extending a connection does not upgrade the peripheral’s electronics to a faster USB standard.

Shielding and Cable Construction

The manufacturer identifies 22 AWG construction and shielding intended to reduce electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. Route the cable without sharp strain at either connector and keep it clear of hinges or desk parts that could pinch it. The black finish can be chosen to match the surrounding desk equipment.
