16 CORES AND 32 THREADS
Keep your creative work moving
Sixteen Zen 5 cores give demanding applications room to work. Video editing, rendering and other tasks that use multiple cores can take advantage of the processor's 32 threads.
It is a strong fit for a desktop that handles both games and substantial projects, especially when your day includes recording, editing and exporting content.

SECOND-GENERATION AMD 3D V-CACHE
More game data close to the cores
AMD 3D V-Cache adds extra fast memory inside the processor, helping it keep frequently used game data close at hand. The 9950X3D includes 128MB of L3 cache alongside 16MB of L2 cache.
The second-generation design places the additional cache beneath the processor cores, improving their access to cooling. Gaming gains still depend on the title, graphics card and settings.
UP TO 5.7GHZ BOOST
Speed that adjusts to the task
Starting from a 4.3GHz base clock, the processor can boost up to 5.7GHz when conditions allow. Operating speeds change with the workload, available power and cooling.
The maximum boost figure is a peak speed, rather than a constant frequency across all cores. An unlocked design also gives experienced builders tuning options on supported motherboards.
AM5 AND DDR5
Build around a compatible platform
Choose an AM5 motherboard that explicitly supports the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, then check its required BIOS version. This processor uses DDR5 memory, so existing DDR4 modules cannot be carried over.
PCIe 5.0 support provides options for compatible graphics and storage devices, depending on the motherboard's layout. AMD EXPO also supports memory profiles when paired with a suitable board and memory kit.
INTEGRATED AMD RADEON GRAPHICS
A useful display option built in
Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics can provide display output through compatible motherboard connections. This is useful for everyday desktop use, initial setup and troubleshooting.
For demanding games and graphics-heavy creative work, pair the processor with a dedicated graphics card chosen for your applications and display resolution.
COOLING AND SETUP
Give demanding workloads the cooling they need
A CPU cooler is not included. AMD recommends liquid cooling for optimal performance, so plan for an AM5-compatible cooler with suitable capacity and enough room in your case.
Check cooler mounting, radiator clearance and case airflow before assembling the system. Complete setup with the appropriate motherboard BIOS and AMD chipset drivers.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
A few useful answers
Which motherboard does the Ryzen 9 9950X3D need?
Choose an AM5 motherboard whose CPU support list includes the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Check the required BIOS version before installation. AM4 motherboards are not compatible.
Can I use DDR4 memory?
No. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D requires DDR5 memory. Choose a kit and capacity supported by your motherboard.
Is a CPU cooler included?
No. A cooler is sold separately. AMD recommends liquid cooling for optimal performance; check AM5 mounting support and case clearance when choosing one.
Does it have integrated graphics?
Yes. Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics can drive a display through compatible motherboard outputs. A dedicated graphics card is recommended for demanding games and graphics-heavy applications.
Will all cores run at 5.7GHz?
No. Up to 5.7GHz is the maximum boost frequency, not a constant all-core speed. Actual frequency depends on workload, cooling, power and system settings.
