Recording and Passthrough Are Different Modes

Capture describes the video recorded by the computer, while passthrough describes the signal sent onward to the display. Check both limits for the required source mode, including the firmware condition on higher-frame-rate capture.

Plan the Source and Computer Connections

Connect the HDMI source to the capture box and use the listed USB interface for the computer. Keep the display route and recording software settings in the plan, using a host port that meets the capture mode’s requirements.

Protected Video Has a Separate Restriction

The listed device does not capture protected HDCP sources. Check the source’s output requirements for the intended content and game, rather than assuming any picture visible on the display is available for recording.
