DROP + THX AAA™ 789 LINEAR AMPLIFIER, HIGH-PERFORMANCE

The THX AAA 789 is an analog headphone amplifier using feed-forward error correction and selectable gain to suit different listening setups.
Headphone Amplifier
Source Inputs
3.5 / 6.35 mm / 4-pin XLR
Required for Digital Sources

Connect an analog source through stereo RCA or three-pin XLR inputs. Front outputs accommodate 3.5 mm, 6.35 mm and four-pin XLR headphone connections.
Pair it with an external DAC or another analog source. Its machined aluminium enclosure houses linear amplification; digital-to-analog conversion is handled by your source. Plan the position and connection around the equipment you normally use, checking the fit before completing your setup.
The AAA 789 accepts analogue input from RCA or three-pin XLR connections. Use a suitable external DAC when the source starts as digital audio, then connect the DAC’s line outputs to the amplifier.
The front connections include 3.5-millimetre, 6.35-millimetre and four-pin XLR headphone outputs. Match the headphones and cable to the intended output, and use a genuine compatible balanced cable for the XLR connection.
Selectable gain helps configure the amplifier for different listening arrangements. Begin at a low volume and choose a suitable gain setting for the connected headphones, allowing the source and amplifier levels to work together.
Place the amplifier where the volume control and headphone sockets remain accessible. Allow room for the external power supply and analogue leads, keeping the source, DAC and headphone cable arranged for ordinary desk use.
Explore amps, DACs and preamps, pro audio gear for your setup. Suggested equipment is sold separately. Choose the audio connectors, host ports and microphone arrangement required by each device. Keyboards, mice, pads and control decks are independent desk companions. The suggested standalone DAC feeds analogue line audio to this amplifier through a suitable RCA cable. A four-pin XLR headphone connection requires a genuine compatible balanced headphone cable.
Stereo RCA; stereo 3-pin XLR.
3.5 mm TRS; 6.35 mm TRS; 4-pin XLR.
24 V DC; 100–240 V AC adapter.
210 × 230 × 57 mm.
No. This is an analogue headphone amplifier. A digital source requires a separate suitable DAC before the RCA or XLR inputs. Use a genuine balanced headphone cable for the four-pin XLR output.
