Overview

INTEL CORE / 14TH GEN DESKTOP PROCESSORS

Intel Core i5-14600K

Build a desktop for gaming, creating and everyday work.

The Intel Core i5-14600K combines 14 cores and 20 threads with turbo speeds up to 5.3GHz. Its mix of Performance-cores and Efficient-cores supports demanding applications alongside background tasks, while integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 adds display and media capabilities.

This is the OEM version for a compatible LGA1700 desktop build. A CPU cooler is purchased separately.

PERFORMANCE HYBRID ARCHITECTURE

Keep your game and background apps moving

Six Performance-cores handle demanding tasks, while eight Efficient-cores contribute to multitasking and background workloads. Intel Thread Director helps a supported operating system assign work across the available cores.

For a gaming build, pair the processor with a graphics card suited to your games, resolution and display. The finished system's performance depends on the complete configuration.

TURBO SPEED AND CACHE

Extra clock speed when the workload calls for it

Performance-cores can reach up to 5.3GHz, while Efficient-cores can reach up to 4.0GHz. Intel Turbo Boost adjusts operating speeds according to the workload and available thermal and power headroom.

The processor includes 24MB Intel Smart Cache and 20MB L2 cache to keep frequently used data close to the cores. Maximum turbo frequency is a peak capability, rather than a continuous speed across every core.

DDR5 OR DDR4 MEMORY

Choose the memory platform that fits your build

The i5-14600K supports DDR5 memory up to 5600MT/s or DDR4 up to 3200MT/s. Your motherboard determines which memory generation you can install, so choose the board and memory together.

Dual-channel memory support and a processor memory limit of 192GB provide options for larger workloads. Actual capacity and supported configurations also depend on the motherboard and memory kit.

DDR5

Up to 5600MT/s

Requires a compatible DDR5 motherboard and DDR5 memory.

DDR4

Up to 3200MT/s

Requires a compatible DDR4 motherboard and DDR4 memory.

INTEGRATED GRAPHICS AND VIDEO

Display support built into the processor

Intel UHD Graphics 770 allows display output through a compatible motherboard's video connections. It is useful for everyday desktop use, setting up a system and troubleshooting a dedicated graphics card.

Intel Quick Sync Video supports hardware-accelerated video processing in compatible applications. Available acceleration depends on the software, video format and selected settings.

MOTHERBOARD AND EXPANSION

Start with a compatible LGA1700 board

Choose an Intel 600-series or 700-series motherboard whose CPU support list includes the i5-14600K. Check the required BIOS version before installation, especially when upgrading an existing system.

The processor supports PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0, with up to 20 CPU PCIe lanes. Your motherboard determines how those connections are available to graphics cards, SSDs and other components.

COOLING AND UNLOCKED TUNING

Plan cooling around the work you do

With 125W processor base power and 181W maximum turbo power, the i5-14600K needs a suitable CPU cooler. Match the LGA1700 mounting kit, case clearance and cooling capacity to your intended workload.

The unlocked K-series design also supports CPU tuning with a compatible motherboard and BIOS. Overclocking results depend on the processor, motherboard, cooling and settings.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

A few useful answers

How many cores and threads does the i5-14600K have?

The Core i5-14600K has 14 cores, made up of 6 Performance-cores and 8 Efficient-cores, with 20 threads.

What does OEM mean?

This is the OEM / tray version of the processor, supplied without Intel retail-box packaging. Its processor specifications match the same i5-14600K model sold in a retail box.

Is a CPU cooler included?

No. A CPU cooler is not included. Choose an LGA1700-compatible cooler suitable for the processor's 125W base power and 181W maximum turbo power.

Which motherboards support this processor?

Use an Intel 600-series or 700-series LGA1700 motherboard that explicitly supports the i5-14600K. Check the manufacturer's CPU list and required BIOS version before installation.

Does it support DDR4 or DDR5 memory?

Up to DDR5-5600 or DDR4-3200 is supported, depending on the motherboard. Use the memory generation your board requires; DDR4 and DDR5 modules are not interchangeable.

Does the i5-14600K have integrated graphics?

Yes. Intel UHD Graphics 770 provides integrated graphics and Intel Quick Sync Video support. Display connections and supported outputs depend on the motherboard.

Does it always run at 5.3GHz?

No. 5.3GHz is the maximum turbo frequency, not a constant speed across all cores. Actual clock speeds depend on workload, cooling, power settings and system configuration.

Can the i5-14600K be overclocked?

Yes. The processor is unlocked. CPU multiplier overclocking requires a compatible Z-series LGA1700 motherboard, the required BIOS and suitable cooling. Results vary by configuration.
