UP TO 6.0GHZ TURBO

Extra speed when conditions allow

Intel Thermal Velocity Boost allows eligible Performance-cores to reach up to 6.0GHz when temperature and power conditions permit. The processor adjusts its operating speed to the work being done.

This is a maximum boost figure, rather than a constant speed across all 24 cores. Cooling, motherboard settings and the workload all influence the frequency you see.

Choose the platform before the parts

The i9-14900K uses the LGA1700 socket and works with supported Intel 600 and 700 series motherboards. Check the board manufacturer's processor support list and BIOS requirements before installation.

DDR4 and DDR5 are both supported by the processor, but your motherboard determines which memory type you can use. PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 support also provide expansion options, with the available slots and connections determined by the board.

UNLOCKED DESIGN

Room to tune a compatible build

The unlocked multiplier gives experienced builders access to CPU tuning on suitable motherboards, including supported Z690 and Z790 models. The board, cooling system and power delivery all matter when planning an overclock.

For initial setup, install the latest appropriate motherboard BIOS and use Intel Default Settings. Manual overclocking is optional.

COOLING AND INSTALLATION

Plan cooling into the build

The boxed i9-14900K does not include a CPU cooler. Choose a capable LGA1700-compatible cooling solution, then check mounting support, case clearance and airflow.

Intel specifies 125W Processor Base Power and 253W Maximum Turbo Power. These figures help with cooling and system planning; actual power use varies with workload and settings.

Which motherboards are compatible with the i9-14900K?

Use an LGA1700 motherboard with an Intel 600 or 700 series chipset that explicitly supports the i9-14900K. Check the manufacturer's CPU support list and required BIOS version before installation.

Does it support DDR4 or DDR5 memory?

The processor supports both, but your motherboard determines which type you can install. DDR4 and DDR5 modules are not interchangeable, so choose memory that matches your board.

Is a CPU cooler included?

No. The boxed i9-14900K does not include a CPU cooler. Choose a compatible LGA1700 cooler and check its cooling capacity and case clearance.

Does the i9-14900K have integrated graphics?

Yes. It includes Intel UHD Graphics 770 and Intel Quick Sync Video. A compatible motherboard display output is required to connect a monitor without a dedicated graphics card.

Will all 24 cores run at 6.0GHz?

No. The 6.0GHz figure is the maximum Intel Thermal Velocity Boost frequency on eligible Performance-cores when conditions allow. Actual speeds depend on workload, temperature and available power.
