For Standard 2.5-inch SATA Drives
The adapter is designed for a standard two-point-five-inch SATA SSD or notebook hard drive. Match the drive’s SATA connector and power requirements before connecting it. This interface does not accept an M.2 NVMe module, and the manufacturer excludes three-point-five-inch desktop hard drives from this USB-powered adapter.
USB 3.0 Interface Bandwidth
A USB 3.0 connection supports an interface rate of up to five gigabits per second. Actual transfer speed also depends on the drive, computer port and workload. The adapter remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1, with the older host interface imposing its own lower transfer limit.
UASP for a Compatible Host
UASP support allows the adapter to use the supported USB storage transport on a compatible system. The complete host, operating system and storage path determine which transport is available. It does not make an older mechanical hard drive perform like a faster SSD or turn the SATA connection into an NVMe interface.
A Simple Temporary Drive Connection
The plug-and-play, hot-swappable arrangement is useful when accessing a compatible spare drive or moving data between installations. Connect the drive securely and place it on a suitable stable surface while working. Eject the storage through the operating system before disconnecting it so that pending file writes can finish.
Cloning and Migration Resources
Sabrent lists access to its Acronis True Image for Sabrent software as a cloning resource. Follow the current software eligibility and installation instructions, and choose the source and destination drives carefully. A cloning tool copies the selected storage arrangement; the adapter itself does not decide which files or drive should be overwritten.
