The Shure SM7dB provides the voice input for this setup. Its dynamic cardioid capsule and integrated preamp give you a defined microphone path for spoken recordings, podcast hosting and commentary at your desk.

Use the RØDECaster Duo microphone input’s 48V phantom power when the SM7dB preamp is engaged. Set gain for your own voice and working distance, then check a recording rather than relying only on meter movement.

Bring recording and routing together

RØDECaster Duo gives you tactile control over a recording and production workflow, with microphone inputs, headphone monitoring and programmable SMART pads. Configure the channels around the sources you actually use in each session.

The Duo has capacity for two XLR microphones and two headphone listeners, while this bundle supplies one microphone and one headphone. A second participant’s microphone, headphones, arm and cable are separate additions.

SENNHEISER LISTENING

HD 660S2 for focused listening sessions

Sennheiser HD 660S2 brings open-back, over-ear listening to the bundle. Use it for playback and checking your work in a quieter room, with the RØDECaster Duo providing the headphone connection.

Connect the supplied 6.35mm headphone cable to a Duo headphone output. These headphones do not isolate like a closed-back pair, so keep listening level controlled when recording near the microphone.

A WELL-POSITIONED MIC

PSA1+ keeps the Shure within reach

The included black RØDE PSA1+ lets you bring the SM7dB into a comfortable speaking position. Adjust the arm around the screen and keep the microphone placement consistent as you record or host a call.

Its cable management helps organise the microphone lead along the arm. Check your desk’s mounting surface, secure the clamp or insert correctly and leave enough cable movement at the joints.

THE COMPLETE PATH

XLR voice in, wired headphones out

One Stagg three-metre XLR microphone cable connects the SM7dB to RØDECaster Duo. The included headphone cable handles the listening connection, keeping the microphone and playback paths straightforward to follow.

This bundle uses the Duo for production and headphone output. A separate headphone DAC or additional microphone booster is not included in this configuration; configure the Duo for the headphones and microphone you are using.

GROW YOUR STUDIO

Start with one complete recording position

Use the supplied set for one creator’s recording position, then expand around the Duo’s available inputs when the workflow calls for another participant. It is suitable for a desk used for both spoken content and attentive listening.

Your computer, desk and any recording media are supplied separately. Configure the selected recording destination and computer routing before the session, and keep a short test recording as part of your setup routine.

Is this a two-person podcast bundle?

No. It includes one SM7dB microphone, one HD 660S2 headphone, one PSA1+ arm and one XLR cable. RØDECaster Duo supports expansion, but a second participant’s equipment is not included.

Does the HD 660S2 need a separate headphone amp here?

Connect its supplied 6.35mm cable to RØDECaster Duo. RØDE specifies support for headphones with impedance up to 300 ohms, matching the HD 660S2 rating.

How do I power the SM7dB preamp?

Enable 48V phantom power on its RØDECaster Duo microphone channel when using the microphone’s integrated preamp.

Which colours are included?

The RØDECaster Duo and RØDE PSA1+ in this bundle are the black versions.

Can I record with Windows or Mac?

RØDECaster Duo supports Windows and macOS computer workflows. Check the requirements of the recording software you intend to use.
