Connect an XLR microphone to input 1 and a guitar, bass or line-level source to input 2. The two independent gain controls let you balance the sources before recording. Solo is suited to a singer-songwriter or voice setup that needs one mic preamp rather than two.
Switchable Air adds presence to the microphone input, while 48V phantom power supports compatible condenser microphones. The front Gain Halos help you set levels before recording so you can concentrate on the performance.
Direct Monitor sends the inputs directly to your listening outputs. Connect headphones at the front or powered monitors to the balanced rear TRS pair. On this third-generation Solo, the main monitor knob controls both headphone and speaker levels.
USB-C carries USB 2.0 audio and bus power, with conversion up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Connect to a compatible Windows or Mac recording system and select the correct input in your software. Microphone, headphones and a microphone cable are separate purchases.
Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen has one microphone preamp and one separate line/instrument input. The main level control adjusts both speaker and headphone levels, and this generation does not include loopback.
Match the product’s stated input and output connections to the source and destination. Keep microphone preamps, digital converters and headphone amplifiers in their appropriate roles, checking cable wiring and power requirements before completing the recording or listening chain.

Match the actual input, output, cable wiring and power requirements across the recording or listening chain. Use the microphone and interface power settings appropriate to the actual source. USB microphone audio and XLR microphone inputs are separate routes. Headphones connect to a suitable monitoring output; optional computer controls do not act as a recorder’s dedicated remote. Compare each alternative’s format, ports, gain, included accessories and physical arrangement before choosing.

Solo 3rd Gen has one XLR microphone input plus one separate line/instrument input. Choose a model with two microphone preamps when the session needs two XLR microphones simultaneously.
The interface supports up to 24-bit/192 kHz through USB 2.0 using a USB-C connector. Use a compatible Windows or Mac host, adequate power and the required software settings.
Switchable 48 V phantom power supports microphones that require it. Connect the correct XLR cable and use the power setting appropriate to the actual microphone.
