Made for the Wired TL Family
This controller supports the wired UNI FAN TL and TL LCD families through their dedicated controller cables. Those two fan types share the controller but use different cables, so each group needs the correct lead. It is a replacement or expansion control component for the original wired system, with Black and White listing options.
Plan the Total Fan Configuration
The documented controller limit is sixteen TL and TL LCD fans combined, with up to nine TL LCD fans in a supported configuration. Actual LCD-device support can be lower on some motherboards. Count the complete connected arrangement and consult the tested motherboard guidance before building a large display-fan installation.
Respect the Port and Group Limits
A port supports up to ten TL fans or three TL LCD fans, within the overall controller limit. Port one does not support TL LCD fans. Organise each linked fan group around its own supported cable and port instead of treating all sockets as interchangeable for LCD operation.
Direct USB and PCIe Power
The power connection uses the documented PCIe power cable, while the USB lead connects directly to a motherboard nine-pin USB header. LIAN LI specifically calls for a direct connection rather than a USB splitter for a stable signal. Reserve that motherboard header during the rest of the build planning.
Configure with L-Connect 3
L-Connect 3 provides supported fan-speed, lighting and LCD controls for the connected TL devices. Complete the initial firmware update through the software device settings as directed by LIAN LI. The available control functions depend on the connected fan type and the supported software and firmware configuration.

Optional Motherboard Synchronisation
The five-volt ARGB and four-pin PWM lead is used for the supported motherboard-sync function. Connect it only to the matching motherboard interfaces. This wired controller is not the Wireless FLEX controller system, and its proprietary fan-group connections should not be treated as a universal connector for unrelated fan families.
