A Second-Generation Thermal Interface
NT-H2 uses a refined mixture of metal-oxide micro-particles developed from Noctua’s NT-H1 formulation. It fills the interface between a processor contact surface and the cooler base. The complete cooler installation, contact pressure and system conditions still determine operating temperatures; the paste is one part of that thermal path.
The 10-Gram Package
This package supplies 10 g of compound, with a listed volume of 3.6 ml. Noctua estimates approximately 9–60 applications depending on the CPU or GPU surface size. That is an indicative range rather than a fixed number of complete installations, so choose the amount around the actual contact area.
Cleaning Wipes Included
The supplied 10 NA-CW1 wipes help remove previous compound from the processor and cooler contact surface. They are pre-moistened with an isopropyl-alcohol mixture. Prepare the surfaces before applying fresh paste, and follow the relevant processor and cooler guidance when handling or removing the mounted cooling hardware.
Ready Without a Curing Period
Noctua specifies that NT-H2 does not require a break-in or burn-in process. Its spreading properties allow application according to the installation instructions without manually spreading the paste first. Apply the appropriate pattern and amount for the processor, then secure the heatsink using its correct mounting hardware.
Non-Conductive and Non-Corroding
The formulation is not electrically conductive and is non-corroding. Noctua supports use with copper or aluminium CPU-cooler bases, including nickel-plated surfaces. Keep the application on the intended contact surface and follow the hardware instructions rather than treating the paste as an adhesive or a substitute for a correctly seated cooler.

Storage and Long-Term Use Guidance
The specification lists room-temperature storage, a recommended pre-use storage time of up to three years and recommended CPU usage of up to five years. The material’s operating-temperature range is minus fifty to plus two hundred degrees Celsius. These are compound recommendations and material ratings, not processor-temperature limits or a guaranteed maintenance interval for every system.
