Two boxes, one clean stack.
JDS LABS ATOM AMP 2 headphone amplifier, the ATOM DAC 2 USB-C DAC and the semi-rigid Stack RCA Cable that links the two in a stacked desktop setup.
Pair the ATOM DAC 2 and ATOM AMP 2 for a complete stack, or add either one to a DAC or amp you already own. The amp helps most with harder-to-drive headphones, such as high-impedance or low-sensitivity models, and gives easier headphones a quieter background.

JDS LABS FAQ
Before you buy.
Straight answers to the questions we hear most about JDS Labs headphone amps and DACs.
Do I need both the ATOM DAC 2 and ATOM AMP 2?
The ATOM DAC 2 converts digital audio from your computer over USB-C into an analog signal, and the ATOM AMP 2 powers your headphones. Together they form a complete desktop stack, but either one can pair with a DAC or amp you already own.
How do I connect the ATOM DAC 2 to the ATOM AMP 2?
Connect the DAC's RCA output to the amp's RCA input with a short cable like the JDS LABS Stack RCA Cable, which is made for a stacked setup. Then connect the DAC to your computer over USB-C and plug your headphones into the amp.
Which headphones benefit from the ATOM AMP 2?
A dedicated amp helps most with headphones that are harder to drive, such as high-impedance or low-sensitivity models, giving more clean volume headroom than a laptop or motherboard jack. Easier-to-drive headphones also gain from lower background noise.
