Overview
SHURE MV7I
Two Recording Channels in One USB Microphone
The Shure MV7i combines a dynamic cardioid microphone with a built-in interface for a second microphone or instrument. Connect the MV7i to a compatible computer or mobile device through USB-C, then use its rear combo input for the additional source. MOTIV software and onboard processing give you a compact route to a two-source podcast or recording session.

Your Voice and a Second Source
The MV7i records its own microphone alongside an external source connected to the rear input. Use that arrangement for a two-person conversation, or combine a voice with a suitable instrument connection. The built-in interface puts the two sources into one USB device, helping reduce the number of separate components needed around a small recording desk.
A Combo XLR and Instrument Input
The rear socket accepts an XLR microphone or a compatible 1/4-inch TS/TRS source. The external input offers up to 60 dB gain in mixdown and multitrack modes, with switchable 48 V phantom power for a microphone that needs it. This socket is an input for the additional source; the MV7i sends its recording to the computer through USB-C.
Auto Level with SmartGate
Auto Level with SmartGate is designed to manage gain as speaking level, distance and room conditions change. The published DSP set also includes Real-time Denoiser, Digital Popper Stopper, a tone slider, reverb, compression, limiting and a high-pass filter. Configure the supported processing in MOTIV software to suit the microphone, connected source and type of recording.
Monitor Both Sources through Headphones
The built-in 3.5 mm headphone output provides a convenient monitoring point for the recording setup. Connect headphones and use the supported MOTIV controls to manage the microphone and external input. The system records at 24-bit/48 kHz, with the guide also listing an iOS-compatible 16-bit/44.1 kHz mode for supported mobile use.
A Dynamic Capsule and Adjustable Yoke
The built-in microphone uses a moving-coil dynamic capsule with a cardioid pattern and a published 50 Hz to 16 kHz response. A diecast aluminum housing and adjustable yoke let you position it on a suitable stand or arm. The net weight is 567 g, and the mounting connection is a standard 5/8-27 thread.
USB-C for Desktop and Mobile Recording
A 3 m USB-C to USB-C cable is included. The published connection uses USB Audio Class 2 with USB bus power, and software support includes MOTIV Mix on desktop and MOTIV Audio on compatible iOS and Android devices. Choose a supported USB-C device for mobile use; Lightning-port iOS devices are not included in the MV7i compatibility list.
