Capture a room and close microphones together
Use the included X/Y capsule for a stereo picture of a performance or location, while the four combo inputs capture individual microphones or line sources. Each external input has its own gain knob and pad switch so you can set levels for different sources.
Choose the capsule for the job
The included XYH-6 capsule provides adjustable 90° or 120° stereo pickup. Compatible optional Zoom capsules let you change the recording approach, including shotgun capture or two additional XLR/TRS inputs. The additional capsules are sold separately.
Set levels and keep a backup
The H6 All Black records 16-bit or 24-bit WAV files at up to 96 kHz. Its optional L/R backup records the capsule signal 12 dB lower for additional protection against unexpected peaks. This model uses manual gain setting; it does not record 32-bit float files.
Record on location or connect to a computer
Four AA batteries power location recording, while USB power and the optional AD-17 adapter support longer sessions. Separate headphone and line outputs handle monitoring and a camera or other destination. In multitrack USB mode, the H6 provides six inputs and two outputs at up to 24-bit/96 kHz.
Keep the Exact Model and Signal Path Clear
H6 All Black uses manual input gain and records up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Its six physical channels include the stereo capsule; backup L/R files do not add inputs. This model does not record 32-bit float like H6essential.
